I am the lucky winner of the #2 pick in the Sultans Fantasy Football League #2 and have been pondering what to do with the pick since I think LT will be gone with the 1st pick. I know that The Sultan suggest to go with a running back but my feel is that LT is the clear number #1 pick and if he is gone then Peyton would be a no brainer #2 pick. What would you do with this pick.
Football is just around the corner and we need to get this message board as active as the baseball one.
Thanks and Good Luck to Everyone.

I would draft a RB. Waiting until the 2nd and 3rd round to draft your running backs might leave you too weak at this position. Just think of who will be left with in the 2nd round with pick #23. You can still get a top tier QB in rounds 2-4. Palmer, Brees, Brady and Bulger should still be around.

If I had the #2 pick, I would take Steven Jackson, RB, St. Louis Rams. I think that the #1 and #2 picks are pretty much going to be the same in most leagues. 3-12 is a different story. Manning will not last until pick #23, so if you want him, you have to take him at pick #2.

Manning's current average draft position in yahoo is 6.4.

thats too high. I wouldn't take him before the pick 11. You can get other top tier QB's in 2nd/3rd round. Peyton's o-line is hurting and a rookie is starting on left end. Point to ponder.

I have pick 11 and 12 in some of my drafts and will take Manning if he is there.

Jeff,
I agree that you would have to take Manning if he is there at 11 or 12. Being that you wont have another pick until 35-38, you would be "stuck" with Bulger/McNabb if you don't.
Unfortunately, at 11 or 12, Peyton will almost assuredly be gone. ESPN (my league) has Manning being drafted at avg 6.0. As such, is it worth jumping on one of the other "elites" early (Palmer on avg is taken at 17.2) or settling for Bulger/McNabb and taking two running backs instead (Rudi, Bush, Maroney, Westbrook)?
And just to stay on topic and not hijack this thread, Stephen Jackson, I believe, is a clear #2 pick.
